What
are water plants and how do they differ from other plants
?
For water garden purposes plants sub-divide into five
categories,
- Oxygenater
plants with their foliage entirely submerged beneath the
water.
- Lily
and lily-like plants with their roots and crowns on the
bottom, carrying their flowers and foliage on the surface.
- Marginal
plants, with their roots and crowns submerged in shallow
water, foliage and flowers reaching for the heavens.
- Free
floating plants such as duck weed.
- Bog
or moisture loving plants, growing above the winter water
level with their roots seeking moisture.
We
